What can you do with a BA in 英语? Ask 布鲁克Tran '23, who has “reimagined the liberal arts” at Pacific. 当 Brooke discovered her passion for education equity, she combined her 英语 major with minors in data science, 电影研究 and sociology to expand her skillset and personalize her academic experience. With a strong foundation for her future career as a 研究er and policy maker, Brooke is headed to the University of Michigan in the fall to pursue her Master of Public Policy degree.

Angel Zhong '23 studied in Ireland the summer before her senior year after receiving the Seamus Heaney Fellowship for International Study. The donation for the experiential learning opportunity came from Stockton accountant Ned Leiba, who studied under Heaney and wanted Pacific students to have a similar life-changing experience.
Two scholarships are offered to Pacific students each summer. Students submit their own poems along with their applications.

卡丽 is Pacific's award-winning Literary and Arts magazine. Produced by the Humanities Center, 英语 and art students collaborate under the mentorship of professors Courtney Lehmann (英语) and Brett DeBoer (Art) to write, edit and design the annual publication.

The undergraduate major in 英语 准备s students for careers that put a premium on critical thinking and literacy. While many majors become teachers, 更多的人进入商界, 政府服务, 法律, medicine or other professions after further schooling.

While meeting the requirements for the 英语 major, students can also meet the requirements for a “single subject teaching credential,” which allows them to teach 英语 at the secondary school level.
